Carpet Stairs and LVP Flooring in Allen, TX

The job

We installed two floors in a home in Allen, TX: light beige carpet on the staircase, and light wood-look luxury vinyl plank (LVP) on the floors the stairs meet. The stairs run between two walls with a white wall-mounted handrail and turn near the top with winder steps, the wedge-shaped steps that wrap around a corner.

Winder steps are the hard part of a carpeted staircase: each one is a different shape, so the carpet is cut and fitted step by step, with every tread and nosing wrapped on its own. Because we installed both floors, the meeting point was planned: the top step’s carpet nosing finishes cleanly over the new LVP. Carpet keeps the stairs soft and quiet, and LVP handles the traffic and spills on the floors around them.
