The job

We installed dark wood-look luxury vinyl plank (LVP) on a two-flight staircase and its landing in a Plano, TX home. The lower flight is open on one side with wood balusters; the upper flight runs between two walls with a wall-mounted handrail. Both flights got LVP treads, and the landing between them got matching LVP planks.

Stair details

White risers contrast with the dark treads, and each tread has a fitted nosing at the front edge. The landing planks run up to the first step of the upper flight, so the stairs and landing read as one floor. LVP holds up well on stairs, which take more foot traffic than almost any other part of a house.
